Steel bar upsetting head processing

1. Working principle of electric upsetting

Steel bar upsetting can be divided into cold heading and hot heading. At present, electric upsetting method is commonly used in construction site. Electric upsetting is generally carried out on the lever driven butt welding machine. Its working principle is: after the butt welding machine is energized, the end of the steel bar is heated and softened through the electrode of the butt welding machine, and the top is pressed into the mold, so that the end of the steel bar forms a lantern shaped round head. In the butt welding machine generally attached two special molds, one is flat purple copper rod; The other is a bell-shaped mold for clamping rebar, which acts as an electrode and thickens the end of the rebar.

2. Operation points of electric upsetting

Before the operation, the purple copper rod and the upsetting die are installed on the butt welding machine. After the upsetting end of the steel bar is desusted, it is clamped on the die, so that the end face of the steel bar is in contact with the copper bar, and then the power is connected for heating. When the end of the steel bar begins to have plasticity, the pressure is applied until it becomes the required shape. After cooling, the fixture is removed to complete the upsetting.

3. Main parameters of electrothermal upsetting of steel bars

The power-on time is generally 30s; When the diameter of the steel bar is 12 ~ 16mm, the stretching length is 30 ~ 35mm.
